"Hi Mr. Hughes,
I got your name from my Volt Dealer here in Orange County, CA.
I bought a 2013 Volt in November 2012 for my 20 year old daughter Caroline and
we all loved it. I have a Porsche 911s and a BMW 740il. The Volt was our favorite car to drive.
On August 3rd, a drunk driver hit Caroline from the right rear traveling in the
same
direction.
The drunk driver hit our Volt so hard it knocked the Volt off the road down a
15 foot embankment.
Caroline in the Volt rolled several times down the embankment before hitting a
tree.
Caroline was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she suffered only a
black eye, arm lacerations and stitches to her left foot. Our Farmers insurance adjuster said he never saw
a car that mangled without a fatality.
We are grateful to you and GM for making the Volt so safe. The fact that
Caroline survived that crash was a miracle from God and the 10 Volt airbags.
I am in the middle of buying

Clean and Worn Out Wiper Blades: Make sure to check for cracked or worn wiper blades regularly, especially during the rainy season. Clean dirty wiper blades with a wet paper towel. Wiper blades should be replaced every year.
Maintenance: Make sure to get your oil changed every 3,000 miles, a tire rotation every 6,000 miles, and have your car aligned and balanced every 10k-12k miles.
Gas: Regular gasoline is adequate for most cars, but make sure if you have a luxury car such as a Cadillac, Mercedes, or BMW you use premium gas. Also, the more weight inside your car, the more power it will need. So if you have a full car load, expect your gas to run out more quickly as weight does affect your gas.
Brakes: Make sure to listen to the sound of your brakes when you are driving. If you hear any squealing it's most likely time to change your brake pads. A way to save your breaks is by not slamming them on every 3 seconds. Always drive a car distance between you and the car in front of you so when it is time to stop you can ease into it.
By taking good care of your car, it will save you money by reducing your costs in repairs.
Families with active kids know that the car is somewhat of a second home for most. Parents are busy driving their kids to one activity after another after school, and unfortunately the car can become quite messy. Here are some tips on how to keep a clean car with children:
1. Purchase a car organizer! These are life savers for cars with kids. Bed, Bath, and Beyond has a large selection with many different options. 2. Keep plastic grocery bags in your car for garbage. A great way to store these is in a Pringle can. This way it can fit under your seat and it keeps them out of site. This is a great way to keep receipts, cups, and wrappers from cluttering your car. When you stop for gas, or at the end of the day dispose of the bag.
3. Keep a storage container in your trunk that you can put shoes, cleats, your kids athletic equipment, coats, umbrellas, and blankets in.
4. Keep an emergency kit with band-aids, a flashlight,Tylenol, and antiseptic in your glove box.
5. Keep snacks in lidded containers to minimize messes.
6. Take an empty gum container and put your loose change in it.
